Help !!! Lady in distress !!!! ;0)

Hiya !

Okay, before I say anything, let me reassure u all I've already read thru loads of FAQS & forums :0) I'm a moderator on a university site and know how annoying it is when ppl ask questions without READING !!!! having said that I've never grown before - once I was asked to look after a Bonsai for a friend and it died - so please go easy on me ! I wanna share my masterplan with u all & hopefully anybody with anything positive to add will help me reach it...

I wanna grow weed !!!

Im a undergrad living in a pretty big house with 3 other girls. we have a loft and a PERFECT cellar (10x14ft) so im thinking about growing in the cellar, seems like the grow will be safer from any eyes in the sky. me and the other girls have known eachother for ever and we've been living together for the last 2 years so I trust them. as you can imagine we've had to rely on alot of guys for supplying weed, and they are always either shady, stupid or both - over charging, providing crap, leaving us waiting around in shady places etc. for instance before christmas we were actually pulled over by police in a shady area but luckily we played "lost" and were free to go without being strip searched.

we're not criminals, we just wanna smoke indoors in peace....

SO, we've all decided to grow some weed !!! at least till we graduate, its not something we wanna do forever, maybe a year ? plus it will be nice to know HOW to grow too, because when we all go our seperate ways after university we'll all be able to have a few plants growing somewhere :0) and compare grades....

Anyway, i've stopped lurking on these weedsites and JOINED so I'll be around a while, just wanted to introduce myself. hopefully I'll have something great to show like some of you !
and yes, I've been smoking ganja for yeeeeears :0) im the self-appointed mastermind of the flower-puff girls so I'll be leading the mission. nice to meet ya !

growing weed is a piece a cake,its not rocket science like some people make it out to be ,remember its a WEED

OK, now that the introduction is over, lets get down to serious business

Firstly, all four of us smoke ALOT, and from what I've read we're looking at 3 months earilest before we get any buds. (1 for veg & 2 for flowering approx?) then after the first harvest we should start getting buds every 2 months after that (approx?) So ideally, we'd want to aim for least a Kilo for our first harvest. Its sounds crazy even typing that but its actually not alot for us, lol,

its only 9 oz each, and over 2 months thats 4.5 oz each. 1 ounce per week each isn't exactly swimming in weed, BUT you can imagine the money we'll save because right now we EACH smoke at LEAST half an oz a week easily :0) we spend a fortune, so we figured we might as well grow the same amount we buy. Save money and be safer - it makes sense

I've looked at various complex grow set-ups (lol you boys and your toys lol) to be honest I think we'll go for the DWC system, mainly because it doesn't look like a guys wet dream, it looks simple to maintain, no multiple pipes, and its something us girls can all manage around our studies without being "jedi weed ninjas" like some of you pros out there :0)

so yeah, def DWC, and we only want ONE 1000W light, which is where I need your first piece of advice people ! I read somewhere that a 600w sufficently covers approx 5x5 ft....correct ? well in that same space I could fit 18 plants easily.... soooo I figure, if we grow 18 plants in a 5x5 footprint under a single 1000w bulb it should be more then enough light for all those plants, right ? now I know that some plants might be males, or die, or whatever, but just as a guide, im thinking IF those 18 plants produce 2 ounces each we should reach our goal of 1K comfortably. But we don't wanna smoke the same lousy bullshit we're sometimes forced to buy, so we're not gona grow crap just because it yields alot.

AND HERES MY FIRST QUESTION - even if we choose a strain which doesn't yield alot, is it safe to say 18 plants under a 1000w bulb will grow at least 2 ounces each ? thats assuming we feed and take care of them and don't kill them first, of course :0)

if my plan isn't feasible so far I'll have to re-plan the whole thing again ! lol. so pros & experienced heads, what do u think ? will we get 2 oz per plant ? oh, and we REALLY wouldn't complain if we got more lol, honest !

the flower puff girls hahaha u beezys...make sure u get some good lighting for ur plants and look into adding cO2 to ur grow room during flowering

you can get feminized seeds and pick strains that yeild alot and are potent.

hey "daleh717" - your right, its a hardy little plant. I think DWC is the best to go, my friends are as clueless as I was about the whole thing, we just know how to roll and smoke, lol. but I figure talking with likeminded people is a great start before I actually spend any money....



ok I gotta shoot but rest assured I've planned everything out right down to the harvest and I wanna run through it all with you guys over time before we spend a penny of our hard earned student cash - I wanna discuss my plans for Ventalation, Feeding, Security, etc but for now please let me know what you think about the set up so far ? I'll be back soon ! this could be hte start of something lol. Im about to light some high grade and consider making a lil sammich

grow in soil...ur no pro yet..DWC is more for an experienced grower..soil u dont gotta do much but water it..trust me u will have no life if u grow DWC

and id go with two 600watts..u can cover more space that way

i would personally go for 2 600 watters than one 1000 watter, more lumins per watt ant better light coverage. trust

I'm thinking you could have googled all of that, honestly though it sounds like y'all are off on the wrong foot, start thinking about legal issues and how it may compromise many good things you have going on. I'm just saying...

and this thread feels like... I'm just saying too many lols to be true.

i agree go soil if its your first attempt,you can grow some kick ass bud in good soil

grow in soil first time (i know people beat me to it)

go organic ha ha ha!! no one said that yet!

2 of them 600 wattas to cover more and grow in soil its much easier. be sure to have a ventilation system. get some mylar for the walls too

Do not do soil because you will be trying to figure were to toss the soil and its just plain messy.I would go with DWC. You can either do 5gal buckets or rubbermaid totes. It really not as hard as people will make it out to be. Go with 2 600w, a couple of air pumps & air stones from petsmart or petco, get a PH and PPM pen, some PH up & Down solution, General Hydroponics Micro, Grow & Bloom and use the lucas formula. Keep you PH between 5.5 & 6 and make sure there is not any light getting into the buckets.And a Carbon Filter for smell. And you will be growing nice plants in no time. I'm talking about explosive growth that will be amazed at. Its not a cheap hbby to start, but once you get started the money you start to save is worth.
Oh and the #1 rule you should know is DO NOT TELL SHOW OR TELL ANYONE cause if you do, you will REGRET it in the long run.
