HELP! I stink at utilizing my space!!! pics, what did i do wrong?

Ok, I have a 2x4x7 closet, I am using a 400W CMH currently, and even though my fan is next to the wall almost (And suspended by picture hanging wire, as i have not went to the hardware store for the proper screws/nuts). I hung the light on the right side because I thought I could also fit a sunagro reflector in there, but its starting to look like there just is not enough space. I desperately need help on how to hang/run my ducting so i can actually use my space!

Anything goes as far as rearrangement, because I still have to paint the entire inside.

Pics show it all, but The AC intake is on the bottom left of the room, with the exhaust on the top right (I have a 4inch inline fan I will use to suck air out, after I figure out how to best use my space). Power outlets are on the top left cieling (Was a DIY thing and I avoided messing up the walls)

There is a mid level shelf which I could move up, and a cheap wire shelf at the top of the closet. I am assuming I will be yanking the wire shelf out, and raising the other one to about its level.

Lastly that is a cooltube 6inch, connected to the fan via 8ft of ducting all bunched up. I have messed up the ducting several times bending it, so i was afraid to cut it again and just mess it up again. How do i cut it without bending it?

With that fan and the cooltube I can literally put my hand on the glass and its barely warm.

Yes the power strips are messy, i plan to Velcro them after I paint.

ANY suggestions AT ALL are greatly appreciated!

BUMP!

I am thinking remove the cool tube and go with sunargro, only problem is it has a 4 inch vent, and with glass I don't know if i vent it or not!

Any info would help!

I am using a Super Sun 2 which has a 6" air cooled hood. I saw on a guy doing a test it was the best reflector out of 5 he tested. Check one out. They are long too instead of wide.

I don't think it's the reflector that is the problem. The way I see it, you simply don't have a powerful enough fan to move all of that heat in such a constrained place. bump it up to a 6 inch or even a 8 inch duct fan and get an oscillating fan to send it towards the exhaust. no 4" ducting fans. you need more cfm. plain and simple.

Well, I have a reflector in the mail for this cool tube, so that wont be much of an issue.

I have that 4inch hole, so your saying I need at LEAST a 6inch vent up top? I think since the inline fan and reflector I'm using are 6 inch, it would make things easier, as a one size fits all thing. I borrowed a 4inch circular hole cutter for my ventilation as it is, and I am almost sure they do not have a 6 inch I could borrow, is there a cheap "PRECISE" way to cut my new hole?

I have the measurements i need so tomorrow I go to the hardware store to get what i need to raise the shelf almost to the top, with just enough room for a Ballast or fan.

Anyone else have suggestions on improving my room? Tomorrow is the day I make the switch!!!

Moving the shelf doesn't matter. You can fit six inch ducting into a ~5 to six inch hole. just squeeze it in there. heres the thing. the bigger the fan, the more air it will move.

One last question, my carbon filter is a Can about 2 ft long, with a 4inch male end for ducting. What should I ecpect when my 6 inch system hits the 4 inch mark? I can not afford a 6 inch filter atm, otherwise I would!

And thanks! I will see what I can manage with a hand saw :)

Well after a run to the hardware store I now have 6inch ducting!!!!

BUT I still run into a problem with a carbon filter, since mine has a 4inch fitting. I see plenty of DIY Carbon filters on this, and many other forums, but do they REALLY compare to a store bought Filter?

Also, when the light goes off, what should the rooms temperature be? I know for a fact it will NOT be the nice 78 it is now. I have all 8 (two Jilly bean never Germinated) pots on a seedling heating pad, but the 3gal pots are big! I was thinking I could use the 3gal pots until sex showed? Fox farms ANYTHING is expensive!

Thanks for the help so far, the 6inch ducting transformed the rooms temperature in a great way!

Oh yeah, here is what I am working with now!!!

i think first thing is center the light better half the lights footprint is on the wall it seems, and the insulated ducting is better if heat continues to be a problem

The new picture is with it in the middle, I scraped the idea of a 2 light system in here since I cant afford a dual cool tube yet. I looked at insulated ducting, but price was a factor yet again.

As for the walls, I painted them today, but I didn't have time to blow the titanium dioxide on the wet paint (The inrpoper cooling of the lamp made the paint dry fast!) because I ran out of daylight to stick them in while I worked on it. When it comes out of the dark cycle Monday I will try it. Monday the reflector comes for the cooltube.
