HELP I need to better understand 110 vs. 220

So I have a 4x8 tent for flowering, I was planning on running 2 1000w HPS but when I plugged them in I blew out a surge protector. So I learned my lesson quickly, one 1000w uses 9 amps and your average 110 circuit only has about 15 total. So I thought about it all day and finally figured out this. the dryer is on a 220 circuit and it is in the next room over, could i plug 1 1000w into it and run a cord while the other would be on the 110 at the same time? please let me know with expert opinion if this is safe? i would plan on switching back and forth between the light and the dryer so i could dry my clothes. (of coarse while the light is off)

thanks,

I added two 15 amp breakers and ran wiring so I could have one breaker per light in a two light setup.

Wired up the two breakers to feed the room, 2- 400 watt lights, fans,, air pump, water pump.

yes its safe. and the light on 220 will run just a tad more efficient. just make sure you set the correct input voltage on the light unless its auto detecting.
