Help: Choosing Room Dimensions

I am wondering what dimensions would work best for me. I will be using either fluoro tubes or CFL's for veg, and a 400w HPS for flower. Maybe someone could help me out here. The two ways I was thinking was either:

1.) Veg area = 27" width, 14 1/2" depth, 8 ft height
Flower = 59" width, 2 ft depth, 8 ft height.
or

2.) Veg area = 32" width, 2 ft depth, 8 ft height
Flower = 5 ft width, 27" depth, 8 ft height

Any feedback would be much appreciated. Time is running out to get the place set up. Can't have the babies get here with nowhere to stay!!

your sizesfor your rooms sound right on for those sized lights.i would split your veg room in half by height and use the upper section for cloning and starting seeds though

Well I don't have much to reply to other than thank you for your quick feedback, I appreciate it. I have decided on the dimensions now, so that my flowering area will be at the back of the grow room. I think it will make it the easiest to keep it pitch black while lights are off.

#2 idea sounds ok'....
I'd make the vegg area at least 5 feet wide.
You'll need the extra room for fans, hosing, and maybe a humidifier.
Plus, if your gonna go with CFL's, 4 foot lights are much cheaper to buy
and they'll fit in your room.
