Help a Blonde Chick Wire a Ballast.PLEASE

Hi Guys
I bought a 150w hps kit. and the ballast it came with is electric and has no wiring instructions.i just wanted to make sure i have put the wires in there correct places.im pretty sure its ok as the light works and the ballast itself does not get too hot.my main concern is the earth wires,,most ballasts have a place for earthing but mine dont.maybe its already earthed inside????.I have the lamp wired perfect as its only common sense to wire that, but any advice would be greatfull on how the ballast is wired. heres some pics of ballast and how i wired it.. the brown and blue wires on the right are feeding the lamp and the other 2 are going to the plug socket.and the 2 earth wires are just joined and covered.

ya you should be fine you taped the grounds together? that should be ok and with such low wattage i cannot see you having a problem.

I would look into it more. Water and electrics scare the crap out of me though. I'm no expert but I would imagine if the hood became live without an earth attached....well, I don't know but I would want to for sure befoe I did it.

lol naw i was just playing threads that say their a chick tend to get helped seemed people did believe me when i said your a dude or you would have got more input by now.

on a side note i did drive a friend one time 30min just for him to find out it was a ladydude he met on CL, i told him no tto go that it was a dude. he didnt believe me .....


any ways shoot away with the questions without going over everything about elec. it works like this, black to black(live wire) white to white (neutral) and green top green(ground) sometime there wont be a green going to the fixture so you will have to add one, put it anywhere conductive as close to the electrical function(IE bulb or interal of ballast) as possible via bolt or screw

your friend was lucky it was a ladyboy and not chris hanson lol. anyhow got some vague info from the supplier.told me that it does not need to be earthed as its double insulated ,the earth on the wires are just there coz thats how there made so im good now and dont need to worry about burning the place down.

haha, im blonde but not natural, the silver in my name is after my fav weed super silver haze, was in the dam 3 weeks ago and it was my favourate allthow the og cush was pritty good but the silver was just so sweet

Try to google the brand and model. it usually sais on the device. try finding a manual online and you should find all the instructions you need
