Help! 400w hps light bulb jus burnt out.

hello , i am looking for some advice or help, i just bought a air cooled system with a 400 watt ballast and a 400 watt hps light bulb, after 3 days the light bulb JUST burnt out , it happened in front of me. at first i noticed the light wasnt the regular color, it seemed alot whiter, then i waited for a while and it just burnt out right in front of me. any advice would help? i should probably go back to the store i bought it from , but some feedback would be good if this happened to you. oh and i also had my ballast on super lumens.

please ? anybody got info. my plants are going without no light as we speak.

get another bulb soon as possible and i don't believe in adjustable ballasts if you can turn it down a few notches do that until you talk to the sellers

alright,thanks man yeah im waiting for hawaiin hydroponics to open at 11:00, im gonna talk to them and tell them i just wanted to know if this happened to anyone else out there. thanks robert14617, appreciate the feeedback.

most of the time this happens, it's because people got oil from their hands on the bulbs (ALWAYS CHANGE BULBS WITH GLOVES ON!!!) or are using the wrong bulb in the wrong ballast or wattage. Were you using a 400W bulb with the 1000W switch or something? be CAREFUL. You're lucky the bulb didn't explode. stick your plants outside if you can, or at least in a room with as much light as possible. they'll be fine if they're still in veg

The lamp was super power, ballasts,bulbs and voltage do not match.
