its starting to get chilly, night time drops to about 30 degrees in the shop, is it ok to use a heater at night to keep the temps up. got 5 cfls on 3 lil guys almost 2weeks.

its a fan with heater built in. set on low
prolly let it run just at night, a 150w infared light comes on during the day cycle.

any help is appiciated.

Heaters can be used. They make units that have built in thermostats. This way you can control the temps better. The down side of using a heater is that it will affect the humidity of the room.

try heat mats that go under the plants. If you haven't got a big grow room this can work well you can also control the temps on the heat mats. They are about £30 so if your in the US maybe about $60.

I got a heat mat for my propogator at the local hydro shop for $28.00. It keeps the mat temp 10F above the ambient room temp. It works well for cloning but I am not sure if that is going to help your situation.
