Heat

Ok where to begin, First of I got a 600 air cooled hps in a 9x4x7.5 with a 350cfm dialed down to half exhausting the lights and a 450cfm running on full blast. Next to my plants at the highest leaf 8 inches it is 83.1 this is also directly under the light, which is on a mover but only a 3 foot track but has the bar so it's about 4 feet of movement. I have 2 6 inch intakes with 70cfm fans in each of them. Air intake is 70 to 75 degrees. Outake heats the exhaust room to 78. So is 83 too hot with no co2? You can take temps in my room from 78 degrees to 84 degrees depending where in the room you are. I also have a big circular fan for air movement and a small one blowing the intake air across the plants and another small one on the ballast wich is a lumatek digital so with the fan on is cool to the touch. Do I need an ac to get it lower? And in the summer am I going to have a problem it 50 outside now but gets in the 90s in the summer. I've looked at the ice box things and am not apposed but will it work with a mover? Its my first grow just got my licence for me and my wife so this has been a whole hell of alot more compliated than I thought especially the exhausting, I put the room together 3 times im a contractor so building it was the easy part, not a hvac guy so its been trying but how I have it now is the two intakes are 6" a piece on one side of the room on the floor and the outake is on the other side of the room on the ceiling. Any help is greatly appriciated.

as long as they are getting enough fresh air i don't see any problem with it, other than they will drink more water.

Anything over about 85 you need CO2.
Hi there fellow RIU'ers... Over and over again I continualy see new threads and posts about electrical work question and thought I would post a couple threads to help you guys the same way all of you who have done such a great job having helped me... So, Do you have a grow room question about how to wire something up, or what are the safest ways of doing things? The most important one I see alot is people running lights and fans off power chords... I have wired my own grow room and will post an example of my work.

hi goatslayer. from what you posted i think you are going to be fine. the only change i would make is to the fan cooling your light. the light is the only real source of heat so if the cooler the light the cooler the room. the cooler the air cooling the light the cooler the room. so i would move the fan cooling the light to the coolest place near the grow room and have it push that air through the light, never pull with fan if possible. might even switch the fans around. use the bigger one for light. for example, the fan cooling my 1400watts of mh and hps is 30 feet away in the coolest spot in my attic near my attic fan. that spot is about 15 degrees cooler. in 15 min my room dropped 6 degrees

when I turn up the fan for my lights it gets hotter in the room, I have a fan controller on the light fan and have it set just over half. I don't know why this is it just is a friend told me. still at 83
