what sort of heaters do u guys use? if any?
and do u keep fans running 24/7 ?

i have the same problem with growing outdoors i cant tell you much, but how cold does it get with the lights off? my plants would get into the low 40's high 30's (degrees) i let them be and they are doing fine.

marijuana plants can survive low temps just make sure that its not at freezing level like 15, 20's but im in cali and the weather now is a beauty

the thermometers lowest reading is 20 degrees,
and that is what is lit up when i just had a look,
the thermometer iam using at the moment is a designed for a fish tank a sticky strip type, i just stuck it on the mylar made roof, i i hope that is not true temp, and just the temp of the mylar,
i was thinking to buy a little blow heater? but would that just dry the air to much?
please help guys wanna get growing soon as possable.

20C (close to 70F is pretty close to a perfect temp for growing and that's what i keep my room at for best growing speed

space heaters are good to use but 1000w lamp produces enough heat and maybe even cheaper to use. kerosene heaters let out toxic fumes and for blow heaters i would not aim directly at plants but can be used. ive never used a heater during flowering so ill bring it up to put it into consideration for other members to help u

if you can try running a 42w CFL but have it blocked off so that no light gets to your plants but warms the air around them

well if you rig it right because heat rises you can build a thing that won't let light out but just the heat

good idea mate, but i think a small blow heater would be better?
iam just a little worried with a blow heater to much dry air maybe?

passking, i have the same problem growing in the eve of my house, the roof side gets COLD! right now i am veging 24/0 so it doesnt matter, cuz the lights keep it warm, but when i go to flowering, i am thinking of getting a space/blow heater, and what you do for dry air, is put a open glass of water either in front or behind (not sure which would work yet) the heater, and the evaporating water will keep it from being to dry!
Best of luck mate

yes get a heater with a thermostat and a proper thermometer and have the fan running all the time...that should do you pretty good. I believe a good rule of thumb would to not have the temp drop more than 5-10 degrees an hour and no more than 30 total...you definitely don't want the temp going from 75 F to 30 F or something....unless you know your grow and think its okay.

Good Luck!

thanks guys great help,
iam gona go with this 1 for larger grow area that is just 12 on 12 off lights,
Dimplex "DCU18LCD" 1.8kw ceramic oscillating upright fan heater - Kays
and for 24 hour light room gota find a smaller heater, as the bulbs dont get hot enough to warm the small area up.
