HEAT help

My current box is wooden. It has a 150 HPS and even with an exhaust fan, it is consistently over 100 degrees. Would a rubber cabinet be cooler? How can I drop the temp? Thanks!

damn that sucks.... i use a 150w in a cardboard set up(was in wood cab), use a 4" inline fan to pull in and a 4" inside for circulation and venting and at 80 degrees, had to take out my 2 150w cfls cause i was at 100 degrees.

#1 option portable a/c unit
#2 INLINE FANS ARE YOUR FRIEND

I do not think that the tubs will fix your issue

How big is the box? How many CFMs is the fan? What's the temp of the air coming in through the inlet (air outside the box)?

Best way to cool a grow box is to isolate and exhaust the bulb with a cool tube and it's own fan, use a remote ballast, and to make sure the fan that is exhausting the box is big enough. If the box is in a hot room (like the attic or garage) then you'll probably need A/C.

yeh...garage. i was thinking i may just have to cool the room -- the intake air is already hot because the ambient temp of the room is too high. well thanks for the suggestions.
