Has anyone tried one of the 7 socket splitters?

I am going to run a dirt cheap grow light experiment. I am new to actually growing. I have a 7 socket splitter for led bulbs. Each socket has a max load of 25 watts.

My big question is has anyone done this? I can't find anything on google or youtube of anyone doing it. I figured I would ask what to expect if anyone has tried it.

I used 7 way splitters. I had 4 going at a time for 420w. I grew 4 plants. Take globe off with tin snips..gives extra light. Keep 7 inches away from top. You need to flatten plant (mainline..LST). 15w 3000k led lights. One plant should give you 2-3 oz dried. Keep an eye on sales for bathroom vanities (4 lights).. you can space them and connect to stripped PC power cable attached to plastic storage shelf.

I used a conglomeration of socket splitters and adapters to built a veg light many years ago. It worked perfectly the whole time, I just retired it a couple of months ago. I used cardboard and glued reflective wrapping paper to it for a nice reflective hood. I had 8 25w cfls in mine, but LED bulbs would be a great option.

If you mean led screw in lights..no.. vanity yes..lights are more spread out. I have friends growing with vanity lights..led.. avg 4-5oz in soil.. you have to keep canopy flat as penetration of light is not as strong as more expensive lights.. 6-7 inches off top of plant.. look for deals on 315w cmh in future. I am aiming for 5-6 oz per plant in coco with megacrop nutrients with bathroom vanities..still use my 7 way splitter with 5000k 10w leds for veg..keeps them short.. nice thing is you can swap led out to change light spectrum..i mix the spectrums in flower. 2700k.. 3000k.. 4000k..
