like a vine, grows across the grown instead of up, i hear of people doing it but never see people posting pics or talking much about it, theres no information with pros and cons or nothing, so, who has personally grew horizontally on the ground and had good results? and how would you manage to start that? just push ur plant over and tie it off to the ground?

It's called serpentine layering. I take all the branches off one side and plant sideways the remaining branches grow up. The side of the cut branches roots into the soil. keepem green dirrtyd

Have done it a few times along fence lines in the past, when I was growing outside ... not quite along the ground. tied them horizontally along the fence after they got about 2 ft high and continued till last 4 weeks before harvest. Worked out well for me and kept prying eyes of rippers from seeing it.

happy growin

You talking like an ourdoor scrog?

Since I put my baby out in March this year, I had to keep it as horizontal as possible. If not, it woulda been a 10 footer. Used 2 screens to train it so far, might have to add a 3rd soon...

I will say it again.. that's just bad ass... love the ants eye view and now I see a more of what to try next time..

how old was it when you started to bonsai her?

amazing what can be done to shape these plants too.
i only used clones this year....i would plant them..wait about a week..for them to start growing again....top it around 4 node...wait about 3-4 weeks and top again...

i did a scrog last year..i think this stuff is so fun...

im going to mainline a plant in a 100 gallon smart pot next year...
