Harvested bud with some spider mites what should i do?

with a smaller portion of the batch i put in in a large tupperware bin and put it in the freezer for a few hours with some silicone moisture pack things i had... im a noob but thought it sounded like a good idea to not really hurt the weed by not really freezing it but lowering the temperature enough for a few hours that they might all die off, eggs and all? Im about to trim and hang them i guess but, putting the bud in a tupperware container in the freezer to lower the temp without it getting frosted at didnt seem to change it at all... its not a huge infestation but i wanna smoke some of the buds at least and i can trim the leaves where they seem to be... they snuck up on me by the way and they make no webs... i guess i could get a hot shot pest strip for next time but any thoughts?

Me personally, I wouldnt smoke it or give it tom my patients.

I guess you could wash it, check it thoroughly with a handheld microscope and then make some bubble hash with it if it looked clean. Id pass on that though, the idea of smoking mites, eggs and shit is too nasty for me. I would probably toss it all and learn from it.

For mite treatment heres what I did.

Removed every plant and hosed them off with clean water. Bombed the room while doing this. Once dried the plants were then treated with Docdoom. Next lights out cycle they were hit with Neem oil. On the 3rd day I treated with Docdoom again. After that day I sprayed with Neem every other day. You need to eradicate all the living ones, then wait for the eggs to hatch and kill them.

Mites suck and if you grow long enough youll have to deal with them at least once. Eradicate them and then prevent them from coming back again (quarantine clones you accept, keep your room clean. Hell I spray with Neem once a week every week up to the second week of flower just to be safe. I also spray with Docdoom once every 2 week in the veg room.

Maybe the Spider mites have a concentration of THC in them
And that could be a bonus
Fuck it harvest the Mites and see if they get you really baked

I would make oil .. dunno if buble hash/KIF will let ther eggs through the netting ?

maybe make a littel KIF fist and see if it let mite/eggs through the netting ?

but with oil you will atlest get 90% of the mites/eggs out of it and I dont belive you will be able to tast it in the end product ..
only thing that might be left of em in the oil is the oil in them ..

Why not trim the buds out and then inspect them and see what it looks like. Are you talking about a lot of quantity? If the buds are infested your kinda screwed.

first of all thank you for the responses those of you who were serious... i just read that freezing them can just put them into hibernation and they can last over a year possibly so what i did probably wan't effective but now we know... i just trimmed the buds it was only two medium sized plants, i didnt see any mites on the calyxes or tricomes but they were on some of the smaller leaves i think i got them off in general but i just dont want them to continue to do damage, i mostly just see remnants of them, i bought a hot shot pest strip like five months ago and took it out of my tent and forgot to throw it away, i got it wet the other day on purpose and put it under my light hoping it would bring back out some of the remaining poison if any, it seemed to slow them down as my plants looked like they stopped getting worse but i saw a few live ones... i will be buying another pest strip for my 20 inch clones im about to put in that tent after i clean it with lysol and bleach and stuff...

thank you guys, i read every reply, i will try some of the tips if next time if need be and i will look into how to make bubba hash... im not a dealer so i wont be selling it to others....

I'm being serious when I say I would just smoke it. The only thing that would hold me back is if you break open a bud and eggs/mites literally were plainly visible in the broken up green..... if it's that bad I would make it into hash.

The guy saying people smoke bugs all the time is not joking, did you know there's an "acceptable" amount of bugs and even poop etc allowed into our food? There are FDA regulations saying it can't be more than x amount, but that doesn't mean there's none at all.....

I would hang them up to dry and hope for the best, and if when they are cured they still look questionable when you break em up just turn em into hash at that point.

If you have already picked it off the plant your only choice is to wash it with warm water and dry it with the rest of the stuff and cure it. They will die by the time you are done. No doubt we have all gotten weed with dead bugs.

It's funny how turned off we are to bugs. 3rd world countries literally survive eating them. From now on I am sure you will inspect more carefully and nip any infestations in the 'bud'- actually before the bud

Well if you have harvested them there is not a lot you can do at this point! Normally spider mites will drop off soon after the plants pressure is stopped! This doesnt help with the eggs thou! Dry it cure it and break up a few buds and inspect with a lope! If there are alot of eggs then make hash! If not smoke the hell outa it! The average person swallows 8 spiders a year and you are never more than 8 feet from one! Bugs are everywhere deal with it! Oh and by the way Mighty Wash is the shit for killing them little pricks! Mighty wash, hot shot no pest strips in area 3 hours every 2-3 days and a drdoom bomb works wonders! Keep Mighty wash around and treat every plant going in flower and you will be good! You can and I have used up til the day of harvest with zero issues!! Found them 3 weeks before harvest but I am anal about my shit so every 3 days til harvest!

it's happened to me. after harvest the remaining mites don't live long. after curing for a month or so you can not tell they were on the plant. protein plus thc. wow!
