so while I'm in the process of triming I should leave the leaves connected? I thought you just trim the bud thats connected the the branches?ya but if u trim before dry u will over dry the bud most likely...if u leave the leafs on it will retain in some of the moisture making it danker..IMO
I see, good lookin out man I can't waitI cut all the leafs of as close to the bud as possible. Your bud will seem dry when hung for a few days or so, but when you cure you'll be amazed at how fast those buggers moist up.
IMO = In My Opinion
my friend and i have always trimmed his bud b4 hanging to dry and we have never overdried. you have to keep an eye on it but that's the same as if you left the leaves intact. im with fdd, i find it easier to trim the leaves off while the bud is still wet.ya but if u trim before dry u will over dry the bud most likely...if u leave the leafs on it will retain in some of the moisture making it danker..IMO
gota get me them "dont get mad...get glad" tupperware thanks for the help man problem solved +repAfter cutting the whole plant down right at the base, I hang it upside down and COMPLETELY manicure it. I hang it upside down because it's easier to clean that way, and for that reason only. Keep your dry space cool(in the 70's) and keep the humidity down. I have a fan circulate the air, but not blowing directly on the plant. You don't want to dry it out too fast. When the stems break, not bend, cut the buds off and cure them. You can cure your buddage in tupperware or in ball jars(glass jars w/metal lids). Put the buds in the containers without packing them in too tight. You will want to open them every day for an hour or so. If they start to smell a little moldy leave them open for a while longer. I actually like the tupperware better myself for a few reasons. One, you can get yourself a couple nice size ones and fit more into them. Two, if you get good ones, I think the seal is as good if not better than the rubber seals on the ball jars that tend to dry out after a while. Three, if you happen to get all stoned out and drop one it won't break and get small pieces of glass all in your smoke. And last, but not least, you really don't want to handle your buds too much. With the tupperware you can just take the lid off and toss the buds gently right in the container without ever having to put a finger on them. With the jars it's harder to get the buds in and out without roughing them up. The whole time you're curing, keep your buds in a cool dark place. Light degrades THC. It has been my experience that the longer you cure, the better the smoke turns out. I usually do it for a month or so, but I always store my weed in a tupperware container anyway. So it's like the buds are curing all the way up to when they get smoked. This is the way I like to do it, hope it helps!
than make me sum HASH! thanks for the help everyonekingeric may be new, but he is wise, and 100% correct. Cut all the leaves off as soon as you hang it up.
How would one cure a large quantity of bud, like say, 150 lbs or so. I am just curious, don't have no where close to that so this is just a hypothetical question.
I don't think ppl that grow that much weed are worried about CURING it, just drying it and selling it as fast as possible. That is definately something I will never have to worry about.How would one cure a large quantity of bud, like say, 150 lbs or so. hah daum fdd those are some grade A drum containers! Noice!
Those are some cool drums...think I will order some and make them into something, like a round grow room or something. They really look cool.
