I read in a contest thread that you have to have at least one grow journal on RIU to enter the contest. They dont all do that, just the one i was interested in. I dont really want a grow journal on RIU cuz that gives my enemies an open mic to just straight up start trolling or disparage me freely....but i should do one. I use Growdiaries.com instead but here it goes.
GSC (forum cut) x Sky Cuddler Double Kush F3 (freeborn selections)
4 wetted 2 days ago, 4 germed.

comments ok
im looking for some higher budrot resistance, the person i got these off of was very thorough in culling process and it's description, so these have a good shot at adding resistance to any line. These will also be grown outdoors up into december, at least im gonna try, if it fails ill just bring them into the tent. I have great weather and will put up a string of lights to keep them out of flowering.
The plan is to find males at this stage im not concerned with hot shit female dank keeper phenos at the moment from these so just 4 germed to see if mathematical averages give me a male or two.

2 months from seeds hitting paper towels and im flipping to flower today. Typical stem rub smells, none of these are standing out as special, so just grow em, cut em down. The interesting part is when ill get to harvest, or if i will. Historical temps for my area says ill be pushing deep into bad growing conditions. The "growing" is done im just hoping they can 'finish' but that's what im testing here anyway.

for those interested im using 400 lumen bulbs, they worked perfectly to keep plants out of flowering. i have 3 of these lights and a small garden footprint of 1200sf, i guess it calcs out to 7.5 lumens per sq/ft, i dont know yet if less lumens will work.
Sex is still unknown on 3 of them, want males anyway so im happy either way

hoping i hit those chilly temps that trigger mad color...sticky fingers crossed

Finally all 4 sexed out now. 3 females 1 male and im excited about this male. It sexed last and that is amazing, if youd like to know why ask away.
Male stem rubs 'new converse shoes' is what im getting, like that cleaning chemical, freshly made, factory floor scent, bit of a sweet industrial tinge. Look at that friggin sexy stud, ill cut branches and collect pollen as he starts spurting

3 females scents arent significantly diff from normal gas we smell in veg except for 1 of them that has caught my olfactory and its form is really standing out, definitely getting pollinated. Group photo

Male was getting too close to doing what males do and i dont want him open pollinating this harem, so he dead

Lots of branches, think im gonna need a bigger boat.

Ill go out later and hit a branch on some of the girls by hand but the stallion for this harvest will be the male Florida Strawberry...man just saying that makes me giddy. Some trics kicking up on the GSC but nothing photogenic

So the artificial lights make them not flower right away right? I have this issue big time and lost 5-of-6 clones I can legally grow this last year…but one made it thru. The 5 started budding in June & turned out super weird looking by august so I trashed them. One made it. Do you run those all night or just enough time to equate to summer sunshine hours? As I understand it I need to do this so trying to figure out a good plan for june22.

Right, i fooled the plants into thinking it was still 15hrs of daylight...ive seen some say they can flower in as little as 14hrs so i dont risk it, i run 15hrs minimum, not all night no. I split it up and have them on in morning, then again at dusk. The wonky part we need to be mindful of is changing the timer as the days change.

Many of the other plants visibly birthing seeds in copious amounts, but these im not seeing any visible seed pod splitting open. Big bummer, high hopes nonetheless.

I like a tight starburst style nug more myself, but i will smoke these sugar coated candies till im blind anyway. The mongoloid has best bud structure and frost, the runt is already chopped up on screen racks drying.my prized pheno has wretched bud structure but will dive into F1s all the same. They were cold hardy in flower just fine..did fine in veg in cold snaps, better than my afghans do. Those frost/thaw events will doom any flower that gets hit often enough. It was a more enjoyable grow than a summer run. Highly recommend for southern latitudes,
Happy new year all.
