growing regular sized plants

ok so i know that the pot size will restrict the overall growth of the plant, but will it harm the plant at all.

i have some regular plant seeds (grow to about 70cm+, not auto) but i dont have much room to grow in, so i was thinking if i kept it in say a 5-10 ltr pot it would keep the plant quite short, but will it hurt the plant as there wont be the recomended amount of room for the roots to grow,

i am planing to do some extreem LST and a bit of top/fimm'ing them so that will reduce the hight a bit aswell.

any ideas to keep them short will be very helpful :)

thanks

using small pots generally effect the plant in negative ways, and typically that does not mean less height but rather less density, less yield, and less overall strength. a 5 to 10 liter should be acceptable tho, especially if you LST and flower early.

5 litre sounds fine flower after 2-3 weeks in veg and you should be ok, lst or top or both.

i will be veging for about a month (starting in about a month, when my autos have a month left as they on 18/6) and will be flowering after that, or would you say a month would be too long/ too short think ill get 7 ltr pots, they should do :)

it all depends on how good you are =). i have seen ppl who can grow bushes in 3 weeks veg and others who have little 4 inch plants after 3 weeks. and then if you are LSTing, topping, cloning you can control the size even more if you are skilled in those areas. At any rate unless your planning on growing some pretty big plants you should be fine with 7 liter pots, they will require watering more often but should be perfectly manageable with 4 weeks of veg.

Good luck and remember as long as your having fun doing it then you win no matter how it turns out =), and CFLs are a lot of fun when your starting out and you can get some really nice plants from them, sadly you end up spending as much or more on CLS than you would and HPS and are running as many or more watts by the time you start approaching the same results, even then results vary depending on the grower.
