you could probly grow them if you veg the plants in side durning the the cold ass winters. then trans plant them in the spring after the last frost.your bigest problem will be the weather. gl on your endever may you be cursed with many buds.

It's very possible to grow in Alaska, in fact it's legal and I have done so. During the summer along the Kenai peninsula the light cycle ranges from 18-6 to 22-2 back down to 18-6; however, this is short lasted, as you may know. You need to flower indoors. Flowering outdoors is very tricky, plus you really only need to veg your plant for two or three months, Alaskan summer will have it vegging for about 5. The tricky part about flowering outdoors in Alaska is that the sun cycle starts to rapidly drop after the solstice, when it is 22-2. Meaning that, most likely, your plant will not go through a full flower cycle if flowered outdoors.
The weather is not too cold outdoors, you will get purple stems, but I like purples better than greens anyway, looks cooler to me. Good luck growing!

It can be done, but the weather HAS to have a detrimental effect on the final outcome, versus a more temperate location. Even growing outdoors in Southern BC can be tricky due to short seasons, and early frosts.

Personally I think outdoor is a waste of time regardless of location, but that only has to do with bad experiences trying to do so. Many people have great success, and kudos to them.

you shouldn't let some bad experiences put you off of outdoor.
I grew some monster plants outside I could never have gotten indoors.

So very true. I had one when I lived down south BC, amongst about 15 plants that just DOMINATED anything I have ever grown prior. It was about 12 foot tall, and 4 people hand to hand around it. The top bud was nearly the size of a friggin beachball. Awesome weed too.

But the next year, I walked up to my crop one day and realized all my plants were chewed by deer. Every bud topped....wait a minute, deer don't have razor sharp teeth that cut each stem at a perfect 45 degree angle

Mother FUCKERS. Some dude found them, and had all the time in the world to trim each top. They probably sat there and trimmed the fucking things too.

I gave up after that. Never mind all the water hauling, or stressing about the weather.......or hauling trunks or truck boxes full of fresh cut weed thru town on the way home to the basement trimming zone. One batch was so stinky I could see people at the lights looking around wondering where the dead skunk was....wafting their hands in front of their faces.

So sketchy....lol

I just prefer the quality and control of indoor, and I live damn near Alaska myself. I would NEVER even bother trying up where I am. Maybe with the right strain, but even then.

No, just cheechako's... I'm willing to bet summit185 ain't no sourdough.

Don't let this guy be a sign of how most Alaskans are... we are very friendly and outgoing to help anyone, Alaska couldn't survive the way it has without that positive mindset!

And yes, it is entirely possible to grow outdoors in Alaska! Though, I don't know why someone would want to with the every changing weather (has snowed in July) and such... I certainly wouldn't count on consistency year to year, and I hear those moose love bud, bears too!

if it upsets you then get your ass back to that iceberg you call alaska........you sir deserve Sarah Palin.

No one deserves Sarah Palin, that's why we got rid of her! LOL...

And yes, such a beautiful and pristine iceberg, filled with copious amounts of incredible ganja and more activities than you could find at Disney World if you're the outdoorsy type.

I had that happen once too. Some punks stole 3, 2 foot, flowerless plants. They tore them out of the soil, so I know they weren't gonna try and keep growing it themselves.

Forgot about that until you said this. I didn't fret too much as they missed the other ones I had in the same yard. Didn't really miss those 3 plants much in the end, and it was worth the laugh just thinking.......

"I bet those fucking retards are both saying how baked they are to eachother right about now"

Fuck, this makes me think about how many times I HAVE been ripped off in some fashion....from the corporate retail world, to government bullshit, to fucking petty thieves, to masked gunmen wielding SKS's and Beretta 9mm's, to the full on tactical police raid.....with much bigger guns.

And now with the bs I am going thru trying to get my WCB (workman's compensation board) claim sorted, so that my EI (employment insurance) claim can kick in.

I don't even want to be unemployed right now, unfortunately I just got tendonitis on the job, then I got called for a hernia surgery which I am just getting over........fucking going nuts, and there is SO MUCH work to be had up here. But I spend so much time on the phone with these assholes.....going on a month now....that I can't look for work, because I literally waste 4 hours a day trying to sort these 2 claims, between 2 different government agencies. One is taking is sweet ass time, and the other won't pay until the first makes their decision/payments.

Then, sitting on the phone, and not being able to talk to anyone, then at 5 pm, the message comes up.."we were unable to forward your call to a representative........yadda fuckin yadda.........call back tomorrow, between these business hours....."

Let's just say, this morning I fucking snapped. Now I may have to go in for stitches. Blood everywhere in my house. My bedroom door is in 40 pieces.

I know it seems stupid to get pissed off about it, especially with the money I make when I work. But I pay SUPER high taxes........like near or over $1,000 every 2 weeks for income tax alone. I pay into these govt agencies from my cheques, plus CPP, EI, etc etc. also, so about $1500-$2000 per check.
When I am entitled to receive said benefits, I should receive them. Regardless of "how much you should have put away" as one ignorant rep saidl.

Holy fuck. I am right sick of being ripped off, fucked in the ass, told to enjoy and be patiently waiting for the next reeming.

Man......sorry to rant, but I guess better than starting a whole new "rage thread".....whew I feel mildly better. Now if I could just find some fucking weed right now.......probably why I snapped. Haven't had any in 3 days now.

The rate at which we lose daylight in the fall is the most difficult part - usually the frost will get you before the plants get a chance to become fully mature.

Thats just an ignorant thing to say.

Akgrown has it going on - this is the method many I know use when they choose to go outdoor here.
