Growing in compost soil ?

yes with outstanding results, put a plant in last year and one the year before that, both times they were leagues better than those i dug holes for, with this last yrs possibly being the best smoke ive ever smoked, an important thing to remember is what you are putting in your compost, ours is entirely made up of straw/hay, goat manure, chicken manure, and old animal feed with straw/hay and goat manure being the largest maybe 65-75% of the pile, in nearly equal parts to each other, hope that makes sense lol. also dead tree bark that falls off in large sections we break up and mix it in. imho a good compost that has had time to break down fully and level out in acidity or what have you makes the best damn soil available, i have an indoor grow that i am using just compost in and at 6weeks veg and so far about a week almost two in flower ive only had to use water, with a little molasses to feed my soil, and if you keep compost year round you will never run out, its mostly stuff you would throw out or have someone haul off so its a cheaper alternative to a super soil recipe in the long run.
