My question is can I use 100 percent organic living soil in my whole pot or do I need this so called buffer zone of non amended soil or is this for just younger plants let me explain my grow starting in solo cups in light warrior for around 9 days after that transplanted to two gallon pot soil made of one part coco one part amended Amish compost horse manure five years old ready for garden use and one part perlite each part being 2 1/2 gallons mixed in is 8tsp recharge 1 cup lime 1 cup kelp meal 1 1/2 cups epsoma garden tone and four cups glacial rock dust watered and cooked for around fifty days mixed once through out so the soil is not to hot and I think should be okay to go full 7 gallon pots no buffer zone where the soils on the bottom half and top is non amended i a rig under a 6 x 10 Scrog using leds hlg 650 rspec 18 barrina light bars multiple spectrums and four sunraise 1000 watt watering twice weekly with well water not city ppm at around 200 adding silica and recharge with 1 ml cal mag top dressed with one inch garden straw and 1 tsp sprinkled epsom salt when I water I don’t drench completely I soak soil to become spongy no runoff and what does run off collects in catch pan and soaks back up using one gallon twice weekly just looking for some advice I don’t want to waste money on more non amended soil as I have so much already available amended and waiting please help lol

You are correct that a milder buffered soil is needed for clones and maybe seedlings. Sounds like you are ready!!!

Okay that’s what I was thinking but google says different and sometimes she lies lol often I mean but I thought the soil would be ready and not too hot for direct planting

Its really how well cooked it is. You can go into the amended soil right away. It is very easy however to guarantee a good start with a lightly amended soil or a bagged option.

The cooking process was something I worried about I kept the soil moist like a damp sponge not drenched and mixed once for initial mix very thoroughly then sat for twenty days added 8tsp recharge per Cubic foot and mixed thoroughly again and put back into trash cans and large pool then it sat for 36 more days being opened about every two days for a few to let breath and not sweat to much
