Growing in a house w/ an oil furnace

Im moving to house with a large 200gal oil tank that heats the house / oil furnace. The landlord also says no smoking, is this to cover his ass if I smoke inside and the house blows up from a oil leak? I'm actually more concerned about growing there with a bunch of ballasts igniting day after day.

Im curious how many of you are growing in houses w/ an oil furnace and its completely fine, or could that potentially be dangerous? I've obviously never lived in a house with a oil furnace before lol. Would it be preferable to live in a house without one, or does it not matter?

Thanks

Heating oil is safe, it's pretty much just diesel fuel. It's not like gasoline where the vapors are highly flammable, it takes direct flame or high heat to ignite. Natural gas/propane/etc. is, in theory, more dangerous because if you did get a leak it could go boom...an oil tank will just make a mess if it leaks out.

I drove a heating oil truck for 13 years. You can throw a cigarette right in the shit and it'll just go out
Expensive way to heat a house though.......
Lol..right!?.. I used to smoke cigars and would freak out my friends when working on stuff by putting them out in a can of gas or diesel...another funny story..I was working on my truck last week when my buddy stopped by to smoke..as we're smoking he's commenting on how the bud was so good and it smells "just like diesel!"...I started laughing and was like.."nope..that's me..lol..."..
