Growing in a big shed?

If your shed is secure. Doesn't leak. And has power. You should be fine.

However. If it's winter. I'd suggest using hid lights as they output enough heat to keep an area warm... to an extent.

Pictures would help us to define whether it's truly feasible or not.

Years ago I used a 12x8 shed with 4000w hps and a 1500w heater with no issues. I had to insulate the hell out of it but it worked.

Edit: Alberta Canada -20 to -35

i never advise to grow in an outbuilding except maby the coldest months. Every time you go to your shed in warmer months you take a chance of bringing in pests hitch hicking on your cloths or shoes. Do you want spider mites because this is how you get spider mites lol

I tried to do this in Scotland--worked ok for mar--oct but could not be done in the dead of winter. Only way I could keep things ticking over was to create a '' heated area within the shed with undermat heating pads and thermostatically controlled temps--which isn't as hard as it sounds. say 15 1000W HIDS is the eqivelant power drain of 5 Kettles on for 12 hours a day eg --very expensive and, if you live in a part of the world where you still have to grow secretly its a big heads up to the power companies etc that something unusual is going on. Extensive heat insulation would have to be cladded onto the walls etc to keep night time/dark period temps above 60 degrees--yes you grow a shitload of weed no doubt but it would be a full on technical challenge and require a almost full time dedication to make it succeed---If its a too much then create a more manageable '' closet '' envirionment using only part of your shed for less stress and worry

Just be aware that if any helicopters fly over with infrared...lol...with all that cold snow everywhere your shed is going to be BRIGHT!

Possibly some IR block stapled over the top of your shed might solve that issue but I've never tested it nor do I know anyone that has actually put it to the test.
