Growing concern

Im just wondering is the side branches suppose to grow stright up like that I thought they would grow outwards not up im not a expert tho so I'm asking and should i cut those yellow leaves with the spot on them off

One morr question do you think my light is to close to my plant
And is she looking healthy

Check light ... might be a bit close . 18” to start.
Plant looks fine ... lateral branching has begun , you will have a dominant center cola also.
As far as low leaf area , plant is beginning to use up the the unnecessary lowers and those will continue to yellow and die off , no worries.
