Growin in a PC...need help on lighting

So I am attempting to do an experiment growing in my 14 inch tall pc...im prob just gonna try with some seeds i get in my stash first so I have a few questions for you...

1) What kind of bulbs do I need, how many, and how much do they usually run at like home depot or whatever. I was thinking 3 25 watt cfl bulbs. but I dont know what everyone else does.

2) Is there anything special that I need to do to the soil or can i just use regular potting soil? I have seen people putting them in a small clump thats put into a lot of soil...is that method better? Can i pick that stuff up at like a head shop or something?

3) Whats the easiest way to make an exhaust? Is it better to have the exhaust above or below the intake?

Anyways I have more questions but this is what I need right now. Eventually I will start my grow journal and post pics of how I made the case and everything. I might draw up a design also as I have not been able to find one online.

Ehaust needs to be above intake needs to be high as possible as hot air rises also you may need more watts of CFL to flower but will be ok to veg. How many you looking to do and what strains? Good luck

1.What kind of bulbs do I need?
For veg stage it's recomanded to us CFL or MH (metal hilade). They have the right spectrum for your plants to grow big and strong.
For flowering period you can also use CFL or MH but you get better results with a HPS bulb ( High Pressure Sodium )
HPS and MH make heat. In a pc case it's harder to control temperature. You can use a 70w/150w HPS/MH + a cool-tube or CFL from start to finish

2.How many bulbs?
This depends of how many plants do you have. More lumens = more bud

3. Soil
You can use regular soil with a pH between 6,5 and 7

4. Whats the easiest way to make an exhaust?
Make your exhaust active by putting fans to blow hot air out.
Intake may be passive (without fans)

5.Is it better to have the exhaust above or below the intake?

Here are some pics of my pc case for a mother plant and a few clones. I've used 2 PC Fans(1 is from the power supply) and 2 CFL bulbs of 36w each.




I've separated the CFL ballast from the bulb to make more room for plants/lights etc





For the first time, try not to use fertilizer. Learn to grow without and then you can try to upgrade your skills

with a 14" tall pc you should probably barely veg...maybe just a few days and you should definately LST to keep her from outgrowing the case cause once you have lights in there and everything your only going to have about 11" of grow space plus the pot will be a few inches tall so your going to really be tight with space but gl, i think it can be done
