Grow Tent Set Up Questions.

Hey all. I have had a few very successful CFL grows, but want to step up my game with HPS. My plan is to have a 4x4 tent, 600 watts, and soil, a very basic set-up. I do want quality equipment, and was planning on a air-cooled hood for my light, until I came upon an add on eBay for a complete set-up for $900.00. It is from Norcal-Roc. The tent is a Jardin Darkroom, and the ballast is a Quantum 600. Both of those are the ones I want. The problem is with the reflector. It is a Sunleaves Lightwave Batwing reflector. Is it going to get too hot inside? The fan that comes with it is a Valueline 6" 435 CFM, and the filter is a 530 CFM carbon filter. My basement stays nice and cool on even the hottest days for intake. 900 bucks seems like a great deal. I would imbed the ebay link, but I'm a retard. So, again, my main question is, will it stay cool enough with a Batwing Reflector. p.s. I know it would be cheaper to build my own tent, but I don't want to. Thanks in advance

buy every piece individually. trust me better quality. or go through the seller htg-something on ebay. there are better deals for what your looking for at your local hydro shop, i promise. even if you wanted a 1000w light with same size tent you could find it. i bought everything individually, cuz i had to and jumped in head first. but if you budget i know you can find something way under your budget. but let me tell you, you will be paying for what you get. if i where you i would save up $1500 and go buy everything individually. tent-$225-$275, hood-$225-$250, bulb $60-$100, exhaust-$125-$175, and then the little things like your soil and nutrients, bet you did not factor those in. you will need them. buy a premixed soil, or make your own, $10-$50. how many palnts do you want to grow? from seed or clone? containers, a nice r/o system-$100-????. what is the climate like where you live? you may need a portable a/c unit-$200-???? depending on all your factors, it will cost you a little more then you are thinking about at this point. just filling you in. i am not finished, i have a cloning/mother/veg room. spent about $500 in there, still not done. tent, hood, exhaust and bulb, at least $1k, close to 100% in there. R/O system, portable A/C unit. fans, nutrients. another $600. i save every receipt. i tally'd them up the other day, im at $2100+ and im almost out of some nutes, so ill be needing more soon. im looking at another $1000 easily, still need Co2, carbon filter... but i have a nice set up, and i went ala carte. you can go the DIY route and save tons of money honestly. lets see what other have to say, that is just my $.02. good luck and have fun... GENETICS!!! them seeds form the seedbanks are not cheap. yeah i easily have another $1k-$2k to go before i even harvest the first round. have fun man!! i hope i didn't scare ya!

Thanks for the response, but can you tell me if I need a air-cooled hood inside a tent? My intake air will be 65-70 degrees max. Even if I do collect the pieces individually, I would still like to have as few moving parts as possible. I have quite a few grows under my belt, but never in a tent. I will only be growing 2-4 plants, in soil, at a time in a 4x4 tent or possibly a 5x5. I also prefer to keep them on the shorter side, I don't need super heavy yields.

NO Reason to spend 600 on nutes that guy is crazy . you wanna learn a soil mix that you premix and only feed water afterwards?? google subcools super soil and his thread on here subcools old school organics. you can build your own tent for 100$ . you are growing pot now it takes ingenuity . oh yea my clone veg room cost only 100 for a t5 . threw it in my water heater room . liitle super soil at bottom of plastic cup coco on top half bamm. check out my man subcool. he sells genetics (thebest) but more so he teaches ppl to grow better pot . oh yea guy if your only in a 4x4 tent all you need is 1000 light . your intake is 65 70 degrees?? ok get a air cooled hood then all youll need is a attic fan and a exhaust. no reason to run a ac in that small of space. dont throw money at the problem.

Youll need more than comes with the set-up. I was going to buy a complete set up but found everything cheaper from differnet site amazon, grow smart, aghydro colo, and ehydro, look for specials.
