I had all 8 of my plants growing in soil. It was a task to keep up with the watering, testing etc. the growth was slow going but that was on me as that was the 1st try. I took two clones and tossed them each in a waterfarm. I was nervous about killing them with chem so I went 1/2 strength for the first month. One thing I noticed was the clones grew so fast and so bushy it was crazy. The 8 plants started from seed took about 2 1/2 months to hit about 2 feet high. The clones hit that mark in about 3 weeks after the roots took hold (1 week).
My new grow is going to be CFL in 8 water farms.

No this is not correct. You do not want 2700k. You want more, around the 5000 to 6000k range for veg. The 2700k is for flowering.
I currently am setting up my CFL grow and have 20 100w 6000k
n:vision 27 Watt Daylight Compact Fluorescent Light (CFL), 1 Pack - 5M82755K at The Home Depot

There are 5 blubs per plant. 1 on top and 4 on the sides spidered off of 1 with a y spliter. 18 hours on, 6 hours off.
Keep in mind this is my first CFL grow and I'm no expert but from what I have read, you need less K in the flowering process to mimic the less sun the plants would receive in the wild.

My flowering set up will be the same, but the blubs will be.

12 on 12 off.

All main plants (veging, and flowering) will be grown in water farms. Clones will be grown in a home made drip system.

Vegging will be in the attic, flowering the basement.

Also keep in mind you do not need to go with 20 lights. From what I read people have done it with as little as 3 lights per plant. I just want to flood my plants all over, so this is why I went with 5 per plant.

When looking at these types of lights at any store. Looking for the K # can be a pain. The number is on the back of the package, in the upper left corner. Very small writing but it's there.
