Grow room light help!!!!!

Hey guys so in my basement i have a closed off room that i will construct a grow room in i will make a "dark room" inside of it with dimensions of : 5' x 8' x 6'3. I was originally going to buy a 1000w hps but now i think of how small the room will be im thinking there will be a overwhelming amount of heat produced by the 1000w, so my question is should i get a 400 or 600 or is the 1000 watt not as bad as i think it will be. (still will have an exaust air system but still wondering if there still will b alot of heat??? Help and tips please!

You could stick with the 1000w and get a cool tube to help keep the heat down. Just a thought.

I'm not sure what your grow area will be within your room, but 1000w is typically 4'x4' coverage, although 5'x5' is certainly not unheard of. What I'm saying is I think you will need that 1000w. You will have to get the ventilation right though.
