Grow room design, help needed.

Hi there, 1st off I'd like to say, great site! Most helpful growing site I've joined and the community looks superb.

Anyway I'm a first time grower and I'm needing a little help designing my grow room, I'm considering doing a SoG grow in my closet. The closet it split down the middle into two sections, both 4ft long, 2ft deep and 8ft tall, with a cut off section at 5ft. I plan on using both sections for flowering clones under 400w hps lamps.

I've got about £500 to spend on equipment. My main worry is the smell as I'm planning on growing a good few plants, how can I get around the smell?

Also, as said previously I plan on flowering under a 400w HPS lamp in each section of the closet, but how do I get around the heat issue? Should I use cooling tubes, if so how do they work and how effective are they?

Here are some pictures of the left side closet I intend on growing in. (the other side is an absolute mess!)

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Cheers.

You need an exhaust fan with a good carbon scrubber. That should take care of any unwanted aroma. Nice space you have there! Good luck growing.

I would suggest a nice light hood with exhaust inlets, an exhaust fan, small carbon scrubber, small ocsillating fan, and little determination. With those items you should be able to make a nice grow room.

And if you can put the carbon scrubber outside the room that will help with space and heat. Try putting vents low to floor for air circulation.
