Grow room advice

i have a 400 watt mh light fixture and am looking to start a grow room with at least 6 plants. I'm wondering if this light source will produce a good amount of light needed. Also i need to control the smell as i will be setting up in a apartment suggestions on filtration systems would be helpful as well.

Well as far as grow room that's gonna be pretty big in size. light u could use more don't want plants stretching for light and smell is always gonna be a factor, things that I have used Are carbon filters inside the grow room easy to make take a tisue box cover the hole with some type of breat able material I went to a local fabric store bought a mesh like material fill the tissue box with carbon can be bought at most places lowes etc... That works alright but I really try n mask the scent with scented candles also open windows let air in that really helps especially when u start flowering.

That light is good for covering a 3' x 3' area, and still have enough intensity. If you go any bigger than that, they'll start stretching.

Also, you'll have to figure out how many cubic feet your grow area is, then buy a carbon filter rated to be able to clean the same size area, or larger.(the CFM(cubic feet per minute) rating will be listed in the ad for the filter) You want to be able to exchange the air in your growroom, once per minute, at minimum.
