Grow box hydro plan.

hey, I have a growbox which is currently being built to these exact specs

I was gonna purchase a 400w HPS/MH Light but was wondering if CFL Tubes would be enough for 16 plants of masterlow between 2 bubbleponic tub setups in this area with mylar and controlled venting and temperature.

I hope thats enough. If not masterlow it'd be lowryder 2

but yeah, Like I said, was wondering if it would be adequate for 16 plants. Was also wondering what the limit on number of plants would be in the limited space?
Oh also the strain I want to grow is Masterlow, A autoflowering strain of master kush mixed with lowryder.

I was hoping for a first grow of a male and a female and then breeding for seeds.

make it taller. 5 feet should do it. The plants will be about 2-3 feet tall and you need a foot for the light and a foot under the light so they dont get burned.

hmm, even with the cool tube? I was hoping that could leave me with less room in between the plant and light without burning it

but the masterlow is supposed to end up 2 feet tall at max.

I figured 3 and a half feet would do it

oh also forgot to mention this is to be used as a dvd rack and a tv stand/electronics stand next to a desk

does your height measurement take into account the size of the lights and hydro system? they may be larger than you think.

well, the set of lights i;m lookin at with teh hangers is about 6 inches from the top, the reservior I figure would be about a foot tall, most lowryders end up about 16 inches i'm aiming for 18-20

so that makes 1 foot reservior + 1.5 feet = 2.5 feet

for the reservoir but for 8 plants and about a foot tall.

Anyways that makes 2.5 feet

I was wondering if the light being maybe 6 inches away with a cool tube and fan would possibly not burn the plants?

also, it can be bumped up to 4 feet but thats a preferably not type of situation

ALSO do you guys think a 4 foot 4 bulb CFL light woudl support 16 plants? possibly 14? in that amount of space with mylar?

iv heard nothing but good things about the t5 lights im thinking about using them myself remember keep them low to the plants

has anyone made a setup with a very low profile reservior like that one?

(I figure quick reservior refilling needed and careful watching of its level..)

I havent used a low profile like you are considering but have wondered the same thing, as I understand it as long as you have enough soup to support all the plants the depth should not be an issue although people bash them on this board the AG is low profile and is only a 1 gal res and people have grown multiple plants in them

oh, no way in hell im gonna use a container with that low capacity lol

I'm thinkin about two 4-5 plant systems using the lower profile containers growing Lowryder hybrids (possibly auto white russian, think a carbon filters gonna keep the smell of 8 of these under tap?)

do you think a t5 4 bulb system puttin out 20,000 lumens would do? space total is only like 8 sq feet + mylar


alternative plan is maybe growing THC bomb for 2 mothers, keep in veg, and clone 8 ladies at a time 2 stage SOG style (at least a QP every 4-5 weeks)
or maybe 8 clones at once...so at least a half bow every 8-10 weeks. that is totally fair.
