Grow box electrical

Hi Guys,

I designed a box to use as the veg area in my SOG and i have some questions about the electrical wiring. The box is going to be about 4' tall, 7' wide, and 2' deep. It is going to have 18 (1 per plant) cfls and 2 PC case fans. The frame will be made out of pvc pipes and there lights will be on a panel that is height adjustable. Now for the electrical stuff. I will be using a 20 port terminal block and 18 medium base light sockets. I will then use a pig tail to plug the terminal block into the wall. The electrical terminal will be fastened to the side of the box on the inside above the panel with the lights on it.

Terminal Block is here

Will this setup run correctly? Does anyone know where to get these parts cheap online? Any feedback is also welcome

In case my description was a little confusing there is also a diagram of what it will look like below.

Thanks,
DJ Rico

I'm doing something similar, although on a smaller scale. I'm using a 20x20 inch square box that is 3 feet tall. I'm installing a 150watt HPS in the box and a bank of PC fans above it that draw air up over the light and out the back of the box at the top. The DIY light sockets can be purchased easily at home depot or Lowes and you can actually see what you are buying and look them over. I am inclined to suggest that you simplify this design by eleminating all those light sockets and CFLs and opt for two 250 watt HPS fixtures sitting side by side in the top. It would be better to use the HPS through the entire cycle than CFLs. Using two pluggable HPS fixture saves you the hassle of having a complicated and possibley dangerous wiring scheme inside a flammable wood box. I know Cost is your priority or you would not be doing it this way, but you can purchase a Sun 250 watt hps grow light for probably $100 if you look in the right place (ebay). Plants love HPS lights, the perk up for them and its awesome! check the links out below, as an example of the cost of a single 250 watt HPS.

Hope this helps you out man.

if that terminal does what i think it does its ganna keep all the wires from connecting to each other and wont work right... but if you wire it up right u can get it to work.... but it would take lots of wires.. basicly u would have to connect all of the screews one each side together.... (all of top row connected... then all of bottom row connected....) other wise there is no flow there is no way to get the power to the next screw

wire up a few then link with another wire to the next set and then again to the next and so on .... kinda like how i had the three lights in each pvc then linked to the next set of three. you could easily either do it on the board with your lights and run it next to the lights or you could make like a little box around it real light weight tho. but i dont know what you planed on doing with all the wires... the prices i had are from osh or homedepot has similar prices
