Grow Bet- Smallest Plant Possible in 8" Tall Box

SO heres the deal

Basically I have made a bet with some friends. We found a box, roughly 14"x7"x11", and I claim i can bud a marijuana plant inside of it. There are a few catches, I have to keep my budget at a cool $0, use BigBud seeds, and one flouro. Including the pot and light, I have roughly 8 vertical inches for the plant to fit in. The yield does not have to be more than 2-3grams of smokeable marijuana. I am going to be keeping a 12/12 light cycle from seedling with the light as close as possible, to increase light (duh).

My basic setup includes:
-One 14"x7"x11" cardboard box with inner walls covered in tin foil
-One light ficture with a small Flourescent Bulb
-Timer
-Potting Soil
-Metal cooking dish thingy as a "pot", with drainage
-Big Bud seeds


Suggestions to keep it small and still produce buds?:blsmoke:bongsmilie:bigjoint:

UPDATE-

I have germed a few of my BigBud seeds, picked the strongest one and planted it in the soil in my "minibox"

After 2 days the head of the plant was visible

Today is the 3rd day, and the plant still has not shed its seed casing but is about 1/4 inch above the soil

hey random i promised i would post...

this is gunna be hard can you put some tinfoil around the box that might help reflect this light. I'm here for this and good luck!

Thanks for the replys! Yes fdd, i am considering simple LST (this grow seems so silly lol, but ive got 300 bucks riding on it and its costin me nothin so why not ;)

And Luva, thanks for upholding ur promise :) ya i could probably use some more foil, increase light reflection (I KNOW mylar is better, not in the "budget" of this one though lol)

Paint the inside of the box white if you don't get Mylar.

Unless the Tin foil is completely flat (which is damn near impossible) you will get hot spots that could hurt the plant. Especially in such a tiny grow area.

I hope it works, show pics if it does.

this sounds like a cool experiment, you should definitely lst it and if it still grows too tall then you can super crop it which is pinching the stem with your fingers and then floding it over. it will bounce back in a day or two and works good for when you have reached space limit.

this sounds like someone growing under their bed so their parent(s) dont find out and needed help but didnt want to look stupid so made up a story about a bet to make it seem legit.

oh and wanted to ask, what type of strain are you growing? a sativa is more likely to be harder to keep in there

And the strain is BigBud (ironic i know, but i know it isnt the tallest plant out there, just usually has super-high yields)

I would grow the plant from seed, bending it, and then I would clone it when it reaches maturity, scrap the mother, and bend the clone on a 12/12 schedule and flower it until I ran out of room...

This way it can be 4" tall and flowering. :)

Good luck... I should start making outrageous silly bets like this. :lol: probably earn myself some good money :P

Thanks for the reply Growtech. Yea im considering more and more the option of a miniature version of LST, and using a clone of a more mature plant.

Will be posting pictures soonish of this....odd.....grow and my "setup" (or lack there of)

Hot spots are a myth, crinkled aluminum foil would only diffuse light and hurt reflectivity. You'd have to form the foil into a reflective lens to create a hot spot(which is nearly impossible, because of the crinkles). The light is hotter than the metal reflecting it.

Paint fumes harm plants. Be safe.
