Grey/Light Brown Spots :( please help.

Hey guys...

So for a week or so I've been noticing this weird whitish brown spotting appear on some leafs of my plant.

Well it's been a week or so and it's getting progressively worse...

I must add that this has only started happening since I added 'natural riverbed sand' to the top surface for gnat protection..
I think it poisoned my plant.
