Do green algae slime and root rot go together, like it you get 1 you get the other??? How much does either one take to screw up a plant?? I got them both in my rez's especially the green algae and it locked up my nutrient uptake in DWC. The ph was stuck at like 6.3 and the plant wasn't drinking no matter what I did.

Light getting in the rez will cause algae. A sterile rez is recommended, try this:

Can these rez's lid's break down over time and allow light to penetrate? Will mylar over the top of the lid help this and reflect the light away?
