got it all setup what do you think?

So i got my closet set up and now im just waiting on germing seeds. I got the 250 watt hanging up and a tarp on the bottom with my 9 pots. the only thing i need is mylar but i gotta get some money for that stuff.

looks good. what wat is that light? could it be closer without harming the seedlings when they pop out?

well i dont want o hurt the seedlings, i figure each day they get older and bigger ill move it a inch or 2 untill its a foot and a half away.

Looks good man...... are you going to throw an exhaust fan in there? Ever though about doing the first few weeks of germ/veg with T5. With some good blue spectrum? then turn on the 250w two weeks into grow so the plants get used to the light and grow more vigorously. Plus you can position T5 much closer to the plants

its ok, but the seeds are taking a while to germ which is weird for me. seeds have never taken more then one night for me. i guess these just take a while.

I would deffantly put that light closer. Just think seedlings can survive out in full sun. So they can survive that 250 watter you have hanging. I have put seedlings under my 400 watt HPS and they were fine as well. I think the most that you will do by having that far away is cause them to strech for the light.

That's not accuraute at all.

you can get them as close as you can while holding your hand under the light to see how hot it is at plant level.. if it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for your babies.

Right. Maybe 18 inches for a 400 watter, but a 250 watter you could get to maybe 8-10 inches safly. I ran 175 watt MH and it was about 6 inches away from the tops of the plants with no problems whats so every.

That's all I ment, there is no steadfast rule 18".. it could be 18", with a larger light, but with the 250 I have at about 8 inches away...
even a 600 in a cooltube can get alot closer than 18".

It's all good, he likely got that off Mr.Greethumbs: I grow Chronic, I know he mentioned that distance in there a few times, but he also explained the rest about putting your hand under the lights and you could lower them.

On second thought, that may have been one of Jorge's videos... actually, I think it was, I can picture the scene in my head..

I don't like correcting people, but when it's wrong, it's wrong, hopefully the dude I corrected will take it as such and not just think I'm being a dick... which I am, more often than not, but I'm not being one right now.
