i working with this. A 4x4x6.5 tent. A 400 watt hps euro hood. A 6 inch 435 valuline inline fan. A 6 inch grobrite carbon filter. A 6 inch duct booster fan. a oscilating fan. a ebb and flo system. I got high temps but at night the temps have been getting lower with winter. Past few nights i have been in the low 80s. The whole unit is next to a sliding door that i can at night with the loud valuline fan off leave open. other wise i stuck with mid 80s and a closed door.
as i have it the valuline and the duct booster fans are connected to each other on upper stretch of the tent pushing into the grobrite filter. I only run 1 fan or the other. At night as it cools i turn off the big fan and turn on the little and it does ok. This is ok but it seems like a collasal waste of fan strenght. i thinking of getting ssome kind of speed controller for the big fan to make it possibel to run with the door open. Also i worry about the inline fan being to strong for the filter and pushing too much air.

Any ideas on how to improve? i have thought of hanging the valuline inside. putting the fan inside some kind of cardboard box with insulation. slowing the fan down. using the inline fan for the light adn the duct booster for the grobrite. i like this idea. it will require some new holes in the tent, ow. but then i have worries about venting the tent with only a duct booster attached to filter. i tired pullign the inline fan thru the light on its own circuit and weirdly ti was a negligible difernece. ?
i was wondering if any body has any secrets of experience or advice for me. looking to quet her down and cool her off without spending a whoel lot more money. Smell is a big deal!:weed:

I would suggest getting one of these to control the fan speed: The Speedster Fan Speed Control |=

I got one on my inline fan and it works great.. got a 174CFM fan and it was wayy too powerful for my cabinet, I keep it on half power at all times now. Oh and as for temps.. I got the same problem too, but hey if you can keep them under 85 you're fine. I average 81-84 and have my plants on average 8 inches from my 250w bulb. Here's how I got mine setup:
