Hey everyone,

Been growing in Hydroponics for the first time, all is going well. Well i decided to grow in a larger room and in soil for the winter month's. I've read alot on the soil less mix's, Pro Mix, Sunshine #4, I have ( 10 ) 5 Gallon buckets for this grow, a 1000 Watt MH / HPS light, room already has the exhaust fan, i have to install an intake fan. Room is 10 x 8 with 7 ft ceilings.

Which soil less mix is the best for PH? It appears that people have been having some PH issues with Pro Mix, I can get a 3.8 CF bail at Agway of the Pro Mix BX for $29.99, Sunshine on the other hand not sure of the price yet. Kinda pricey for 2 bails of peat moss. Anyone ever use Premier Peat Moss Tourbe made by the same manufacturer as Pro Mix from Home Depot or Lowes and add your own lime, perlite, worm casings, etc, etc? Bag of this peat is less then $10.00.

Yea, I bought some 'pro-mix' (forget the actual brand name but it was a special blend of sphagnum peat moss, wetting agents, and a few other things) at walmart earlier this year. they also had the worm castings, lime, perlite, etc, that I needed to make my soil.I didn't really worry about ph and all that. Just used sub's recipe on here, mixed it in a plastic kids pool and voila.....supr soil lol. Did the trick for me.
Here's a link to sub's soil recipe thread: https://www.rollitup.org/subcools-old-school-organics/338384-2010-revised-super-soil-recipe.html

Thanks man i really appreciate the quick response. Honestly, $60.00 for Peat Moss seems high to me. Well it looks like a trip to Wally world is in order too see what they have. I also appreciate the link to the soil recipe, gonna go look at it right now.

Thanks again Doowmd.

Its the rep button. Feel free to use it sparingly and others will do the same for you.

And yea, $60 for peat moss is wayyyyyyy too hi when the bags i mentioned from walmart (almost EXACTLY the same as 'pro mix' on line) run about $7-10! I bought EVERYTHING I needed (soil wise) for $60! lol Course thats not sayin much, since my grows not real big, but its not the tiniest I've seen either.
