Going out of Town...

I am going out of town tomorrow for a week. I'm not so sure I want to leave my 400watt HPS light on that long with no one here...

Would it be okay to switch to fluorescents for a week? If so, which type bulb is best for flowering?

Thanks

how old is your plant, early veg? sometimes a veging plant does well with 24 hrs of light, you will be surprised how much it grows when you come back, if you dont cook it... is say have you most trusted smoking buddie to watch it and promise him a cut of the yield and make sure he tells no one.
also will the plant just water its self? if you have some cool hydo cabnet id say you could leave it. or maybe get a timer switch?

My plants are in the 3rd week of flowering...one is about 3 feet tall and the other is close behind. They are already on a timer as well. I was planning on having a buddy come by at least once or twice. I plan to water before I leave, so most likely they will only need 1 watering while I'm gone.

Although my friend is dropping by, I still feel a little sketchy about using the HPS light...I mean if a fire or something did happen, chances are he wouldn't be here when it did...I don't know, I think I'd just be a lot more relaxed knowing there isn't a real hot light burning in my house with me gone for 7 days. If a fluorescent will suffice for a week and not hurt my yield too bad, I'd like to do that.

If nothing has happen in veg growth and now in the flower stage, what makes you think any things going to happen now, I mean do you stay home all day long and never leave, when light is on. Nothing happens when you leave then, to go to the store, so i would worry about it. But they do need water so, theres no dought some ones going to have to feed them. So i say leave the light the way they are and go.make sure you raise the light though, in a weeks time they can grow a lot. shoot i would be worried about them not getting enough water or growing into the light before i worried about a fire,
