God Of Time.

This is a project I'm working on to illustrate an abstract god. Most of us are familiar with Anthropomorphized gods, meaning we associate them with human qualities or the human form. Zeus and the other gods were human-like and often-times the christian god is portrayed in the same light. I've been trying to steer away from stereotypes like anthropomorphized gods as I continue to finish my novel, and here is a work-in-progress. I will continue to update this thread with more pictures as I work on it.

Gången (gohn-gehn), is the Locust-god of time for the planet of Lignamira. Like locusts that continually feast on crops, Gången continually rotates the planet in his mandibles, consuming and controlling time as it weaves between the sinews of reality.

My Swedish isn't the best, but if I'm correct 'gången' should be the past participle of 'gå,' which in english is the verb, 'to walk.' 'Gången' should mean 'walked' or 'have walked'; particularly down a narrow path or trail—which is exactly what the passage of time is. Time is a narrow path that we happen to follow. If we were to travel back in time and change one thing (what this god is fond of doing), an entirely different, narrow path would be followed through the passage of time.

Lignamira and all concepts therein belong to me.

Anyway, this image is 18"x30" and I plan on going crazy with detail like this-there over here: http://switch3453.deviantart.com/art/Great-Horned-Owl-119321715
