glass cover on air cooled 600 hps

Im wanting to attach my carbon filter exhaust fan thru my air cooled 600w reflector hood. My question is is I attach the glass cover onto my reflective hood will that cause a decrease in my lumen's intensity?

It may cause a negligible loss but the closer distance you can bring the light to the tops of the plants will easily cancel that out. Keep it clean and it won't even make a difference.

.

The big problem with the glass cover is the dust, mine was always dirty and reduced lumens. Some type of dust filter on the air-in duct would help.

I got a light mover and ditched the cover. Your fan and ducting attached to your air cooled hood will draw air up over the bulb if you have no cover, works well to cool things (not as good as a glass cover obviously). I've run mine with a light mover and without the glass cover, air out through ceiling, and it works great. 600W @ 12"-14" from tops and no heat stress.

Thanks for the feedback. On a good day my temps are low 80's 12 inches directly below my bulb. I was thinking about putting the glass on hoping I could drop the light a couple inches closer

Im gonna put it on and exhaustt my filter thru it. I have a dust cover over my carbon filter so hopefully that will keep too much dust out and guess I'll just clean the glass daily and see how iy goes
