Hey guys... First time grower here, but I've been up on the forums for a looong time, and I think I've got what I need to know. I'm just posting my grow so I can get some possibly much needed assistance from a variety of sources. I'll start off with my setup.
My setup is in a basement full bathroom, where the bathtub/shower has been made into the grow space. The entire inside of the shower and tub has been wrapped with black and white.. with a piece of black and white cut to the same size as the curtain. I figured it would be pretty functional to be able to just open the curtain to work. Beside the shower on the wall I have a 400W electronic ballast, and a 4" duct fan to the outside. I use a 400 w HPS bulb, and have a batwing reflector hanging from another shower rod over the tub. There are also 2 oscillating fans in the room, one at plant level, and one beside the humidifier.
Now.. I've got a SLH seedling about a week old, and a 'church' seed that just broke soil yesterday (after 10 days of germination). I also have one of each on the way for a total of 4 plants. I've got the light 23" from the pots, and they're on a 23/1 light cycle. I'm not going to use nutes until they mature a little, I'm thinking 5 leaves. I'm using a soilless mixture of peat moss, perlite, and limestone. As of now I've been watering when needed.. not on a schedule.. cuz I've been lowering the light, it dries out oddly.
The SLH is stretched, but I think it can catch itself pretty quickly. The church, well its about a cm tall, so I'll post on that later. I'll be throwing up pics tomorrow.. and I'd appreciate any input you guys have on the setup. Thanks!
