hey all
im a newbie to this forum but have been growing indoor for about four years
ive read quite a few forums and have already learnt some excellent new tips and tricks. just goes to show even if ya think you got it just right theres still stuff ya could be doin much better!

i wanted to post a bit of a thread with some pics for the more broke of us out there who are trying to strat a grow but have very little and need to really pull in a few oz's to pass on at a small price to get some good gear with witch to continue if ya no wat i mean.
over the past couple of weeks i have set thiis "room" up to document start to finish what i would consider to be the bare minimum if you like to do a semi succesfull (i say semi because with all the correct equipment i think maybe double the weight could be harvested) grow.
this is the equipment i have used.
400w hps hid ( i know i could have gone cfl for even cheaper but its not hard to find cheap cheap 400w hps lights on the net second hand i bought this one for $55 new zealand dollars on a well known auction site ) black polythene approx approx 10 meters for walls of room (this stuff is everywhere on building sites they lay it under concrete floors for moisture protection builders will sell you 10 meters for next to nothing i bought mine for five bucks off a labourer on site if they ask questions think of an excuse!!! i said i needed something to cover my project car)12 meters of 2x2 timber for the roof constuction. 3 or 4 bread crates the plastic ones these will be used to sit the plants off the floor with and a couple of rolls of good sellotape gaffa tape (the one with the stitch through it) and any sort of fan oscillating is better but any thing that will move air will do and the most important thing is to have all this set up in a semi ventilated (sorry apartment peeps this counts you out) area by semi ventilated i mean not an airtight room for example this room i have set up is in a car garage that is not attached to my house.
so many of you will be asking why the black polythene? the reason i used just this with no reflective surface e.g. no white paint or mylar is simple black attracts heat and because this only a semi sealed room temperature can become a real issue the black plastic really keeps a good temp and imho temp is more important than reflectivity off walls although i do recomend a reflector for ya light. any way im gonna stop writing now and post some pics of one grow accheived already in this room and tomorrow ill post some pics of outside inside and build instructions for this simple yet effective starter grow room.
