Getting some yellow leaves on all my plants

Hi y'all,

Noticing that I'm getting quite a lot of yellow leaves on all 4 of my plants. My God Bud doesn't seem to be affected for some reason however.

They have just started flowering so I switched to the flower A and B fertilizer, however this was starting to happen when they were not flowering and I had veg nutes going. They are watered almost every day now that's it's so hot day and night (I'm in Toronto).

Please help!

I am in Mississauga to the west of you and two of my outdoor plants have about 15% of large fan leaves at the bottom turning yellow. People have told me that this is natural for flowering plants. The bean plants in the garden are also yellowing.

Some people also recommend cutting off some of the largest fan leaves at this stage of growth because it is the sugar leaves doing the work now for the buds to grow.

I'm bending My taller stems over so I'm getting some yellowing. Is it possible your nutes are a little heavy?

The leaves turn yellow as the plant directs nutrients and energy towards the flower. This is completely normal and difficult to avoid since you would not be using much nitrogen at this point.
 
Thanks, I was doing that early on but got lazy. Is it too late to trim back the small bottom branches at this point? I'm concerned about stressing the plants now that they are starting to flower.

The bottom leaves yellow because they are being eaten by the plant.. Food source..
The nutrients are transferred up to the tops and yes the sugar leaves to feed the buds..
They all work together..

You can still totally do it. Better late than ever it will stress it out a little but it's normal
 
I wouldn"t panic. Some of mine are doing that. Those fans especially below will give up all rheir nutrients to the plant, yellow, die, and fall off in the final weeks. Not much stress to the plant if you remove them once decay sets in.

Ideally it would stay greener in early flower. Maybe it ran a little low on N toward the end of the stretch. Don't throw a bunch at it now, too much can compromise flowering. A fish hydrolysate or the like with more P than N would be OK.

I grow organically in living soil so not using bottled nutes but I do know you need to slowly transition from veg. Feed to bloom feed--as N demands taper off rather suddenly end.
 
This some good and easy to get Nutrients. You can also use and mix raw sugar .If you can't get Unsolved molasses raw sugar works too. It's organic so it won't burn your plants.

Oh interesting, I've never seen molasses used.

Thanks for that, are you growing yours in containers with the organic soil or in the ground? I used organic soil specific for cannabis this year and I wonder if I should have just let them grow without the nutes..
 
I never seen those nutes before so idk how good it is.buut..ya I like to use bagged soil but it comes sterile.So I like to water at least ones a month with molasses to wake up and feed all those microbes. Then I feed fish Fertilizer 5-1-1 if I see my plant needs nitrogen. (You will be able to tell if you leave turn yellow). I always run bloom at the end tho. I love KoolBloom but it's not organic and ihave burned some plants with it tho lol. For a safe feed use something organic that will not burn Or cause nutrient lock. Here's a safe feed. And prime soil

Molasses t least once a month.
fish Fertilizer 5-1-1 to grow (if your plant needs it )
Fishs fertilizer 0 10 10 for bloom. I like to feed it once a week but if you want to be safe every other week it's ok to.

You definitely do need nutrients Whether that's worms And microbes underground living and feeding your plants Naturally Or us feeding it's all the same.

Most in ground, a few in 10g smart pots.

Which soil did you use? Some of them like Coast of Maine's Stonington Blend are premixed with all kinds of organic nutrients for your plants but depending on container size those will run out eventually. Then you need to add more. You can either buy the bottled concoctions or make your own teas, or you can topdress with amendments (fish bone meal is ideal for flowering, although it takes a week or more to break down into forms the plant can use). Probably at this stage of the game for you a liquid fertilizer would be best because your plants will benefit immediately. Like I said just don't go and overdo the N just because you see some yellowing. They're looking mostly for P and K to build those buds, plus Ca, Mg and other micronutrients.

Hey I'm just wondering
....what do you think about molasses ? I love it But I have met some people that hate it because of bugs and suff but I Never had to deal with that.
 
I like it. Use it in most teas. Feeds microbes in the soil, and when they're happy the plants are happy! Basically the more healthy soil life you have in the root zone the better and molasses helps those critters thrive and multiply. Haven't had any bug issues yet.
