Germination lighting

whats up guys. this is my first post. gotta say, this the most chill message board ive seen. nobodys biting peoples heads off.
but anyway, when im first starting to germinate my seeds, what kind of a light cycle is the best. i always thought that your supposed to start them on 24 hours light until they sprout. let me know

I use 18/6 till flower. My opinion but every thing needs to sleep. This place is "the most chill message board" because we all smoke bud. No time to fight to many other things to do . Have to ROLL Have to WATER Have to CUT CLONES Have to ROLL Have to ROLL and so on and so on.

i personally never believed in 24 but i'm tring it now on my seedlings and they seem to be thriving

i too also have my little ones on 24hrs. them seem to be a little more thristy then ive seen posted on here for germination, but i guess its all strains and preference

i got mine on 24 hours , must say big difference,
when do i bring them to 18 hours on and 6 dark? they are now two weeks with 24 hours?

can any one tell me.

I would slowly change it now, just cut it down an hour every day... thats exactly what I did...

cool cheers, i have them under a fluoresent at the mo, can i change the light too . HID.

o yeah, change the light if you have to... I'm usin CFL, and I'm probably gonna need to get 2 more here soon... plants are getting big!

I know this completely off the subject but I was wondering if 6 oz. yogurt containers(with holes in bottom) would be possible to plant in? Or would Io have to transplant too quickly?

eh, you could definatly start in one, but after a couple weeks after sprout you would want to re-pot them

i got mine in prince albert cans.

I'm planning to put mine in dixie cups after they sprout then moving up to like a party/plastic cup.
