Germinating under CFL's Questions

I am currently germinating dutch passion blueberry, Dinafem Fruit Automatic, and a couple bag seeds. All three sprouted/ cracked and the tap roots are showing. I transplanted them into my presoaked rockwool cubes in a not wet but damp environment. My question now was that after i planted the little tiny seeds in the rockwool, do I put them under my CFL's? or should I leave them in the dark for another 8 hours and wait until they sprout?

Ive heard people do this both ways, I am growing in hydro under CFL's and 600w HPS. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The temperatures are right at 80 and the humidity is around 70%

Bcurwi1: There are a lot of ways to skin a deer so who's to say which way is the best? "HIGH TIMES," had an excellent article on germination and propagation in the June 2011 issue. It starts on page 112 and probably answers most of the questions you're apt to know to ask.

Here's how I do it: I soak my grow pods until their saturated and soft then I poke a little hole in the top twice as deep as the length of the seed with a bamboo bar-b-cue skewer. I poke the seed into the grow pod with tweezers, 'pointy end down.' I used to cover them but the last few times I haven't and there were no problems. I cover the grow cage with a label to keep most of the light out and prevent mold from growing and I cap them with a humidity dome. I remove the light cord from my Aerogarden so that just the pump is left running and irrigating the seeds. I leave them in total darkness for twenty-four hours. The seeds swell and in one case recently a couple had actually already sprouted when I plugged in the lights 24 hours later. Granted that was unusual, but most of my seeds germinate within two to four days. I hope that helps because even if you don't have an Aerogarden the process works with other methods of growing. Just make sure you plant your seeds where you want them to grow and you won't have any problems like damaging the tap root when you have to transplant them later. I hope this helps. HSA

Thanks has I think I'll just wait and see if they come up. I've watered until damp but not dripping and I left them in darkness for 2 hours. I turned my lights on to help keep the heat up. They're on 24/0

i also used to use 24 / 0 and have since switched to either 20 / 4 or 18 / 6 as i've noticed that the plants seem to do a lil better when they have a few hours of dark period..
i've read all kinds of articles that a plant will grow 33% faster if given 24 hours of light instead of only 18, but from personal experience, i find this not to be true and that they indeed do a lil better with a few hours of dark each day..
