Germinating Seeds -- Light

I just sowed 10 seeds directly in soil in my grow room tent. When should I turn the light on -- right now, when the seed begins to sprout above the soil, etc?

you can turn them on now if you want. The plant won't use the light until it breaks the soil, but it'll be there for it when it does. You can also wait till they sprout and save a day or two electricity. Won't hurt them at all though to turn it on.

yes if you can see it above soil use lights but what type of lights are you using...i like cfls or floro tubes for sprouts

I have lumatek MH adjustable from 365 to 600... and also a 20 watt florescent light -- I guess I'll wait a day and then kick the light on 365

sprouts don't need alot of light the first few weeks.
