Germinating in soil for hydro

I am starting a run in an aeroflo 60 Im not having very good success rate germinating seeds in RW or rapid rooters..But I have near 100% success rate in soil in cups....My question is this....Can I germ my seeds in soil and then transfer them to hydro if i pull them and wash roots off good?...Thanks in advance...Im going to do a run of Purps (pictured)..Just finishing a soil run now..

You will have better success if you germ BEFORE you plant, nevermind the fact that you shoul stick to the medium that the plant will live in. You might want to try pre-soaking for 12 hours before putting them between wet paper towels.

That's how I did it before I starting using rapid rooters, it works but it will slow growth for a week. If you feel like you must try it, be sure to dig very deeply underneath the seedling from the side. Kind of fluff the soil up gently until it is all loose. Then just drop the seedling in a bowl of water. You can then use net pots by picking up the seedling, threading the roots gently through an opening in the net pot, then fill with clay pellets and you're good to go!
