Germinating in aquarium

Has anyone germinated seeds in an aquarium? My aquarium is at a steady 76 degrees, so I think it would be the perfect conditions? The only negatives I can think is if the roots got stuck in the sand. I would also have to turn off the lights.

In an aquarium, yes. In the sand in the aquarium, no.
