GENIUS DIY AEROFLO GUYS. I NEED YOUR SAGE ADVICE. (manifold tubing/glue question)

Please help me. I like to think I know what I'm doing but I've come to a terrible realization. After plumbing an elaborate manifold and drain system, I'm starting to worry about off gassing issues. I actually thought about it before hand and was poo poo'ed by a friend of mine. "Oh don't worry about that" I just got lucky and stumbled onto this recent thread last night...

If you wanna save time, it's about this 1/2" black flex that gives off a chemical that kills plants. Nightmare. It tortured many EXPERIENCED people. No one could figure out why their plants were yellowing and dying. A year later they got to the bottom of it.

A couple of my plants are exhibiting identical symptoms although not as extreme and I am using black flex for my chiller line. I thought I had seen that "N-G-W.com" logo and sure enough, I had some of that tubing IN MY HOUSE although thankfully, I didn't have it in my room.

BUT... All this got me thinking so now I want to hear from some of you expert DIYers about the materials you use to make your drains and manifolds. I used 1" (I believe) "pond-flex" black tubing for the manifold and cemented the joints with a pvc hot cement (it's blue). I realize this is a little late but IS THAT GLUE SAFE to use? What about that pond-flex tubing? It looks identical to the GH product...

I'm stressed :(

Thanks for any input.
