General setup/Extraction advice (BHO)

Hello everyone, have a few questions regarding set up:joint:

I have access to fresh material and I will be doing EVERYTHING outside. :mrgreen:

This is the vacuum pump I am considering, is this guy gonna cut it? :-?

here is the chamber I am considering, will it hold up?

But I would have to say my biggest question is do I need to apply heat to the pyrex brownie tray im running the BHO into? if so, how do I do this safely being that there will be BHO fumes in the atmosphere? I.E. does the tray go on the hotplate/griddle? or into a double boiler bath system? In either case what temperature range is optimum for the water/hotplate (farenhiet please)?

Also how long do I leave it on/in the hotplate/double boiler bath before moving into the vacuum pump? :-?

Then my final question would be is there an equation to figure out how long to vacuum purge the BHO? as in __x_amount of time for _x__ amount of BHO?

hot water bath or a griddle and some people are using reptile sand now

i wait till my stuff heat purges to about 100 then i scrape and put in the chamber

and there isnt a set time it depends on a couple of different factors

What do you mean by that man? like you slowly bring it up to 100 degrees?

Also if you could elaborate just a slightly on what those factors might be it would be much appreciated.

P.S. If you get a chance to look at the gear I posted on there I'd appreciate your input on it.

Yes, you need enough heat to keep the pool liquid enough for the bubbles to escape. We like 115F.

The butane fumes will not be concentrated enough to burn at -29.5" hg, nor will there be enough oxygen. In addition, it needs a spark or open flame to ignite under those circumstances.

We got a larger disiccator and put a Corning Scholar 170 hot plate inside.Vaccum pots-1-1.jpg

Awesome speedy responses bros very helpful advice. @Fadedawg, seems like your using a glass desiccator like the one I originally posted, any problems/complaints with it? Is it really necessary to buy those expensive aluminum ones like Twitch said?

@fadedawg does that plastic vacuum chamber allow you to put it into a double boiler or on a griddle, can it take that heat?

The glass does well at the temperatures involved. It wouldn't like sharp changes in temperature, because of thermal expansion.

Actually I paid more for the glass desiccator than to build the DIY chamber out of a pressure cooker and a Polycarbonate lid.

Was that your rationale behind putting the hot plate into the desiccator?

Dude I was totally thinking yesterday about converting a pressure cooker into a desiccator, could you explain how you did it?

just fyi. as soon as you start blasting tane you arent in full compliance with state and local regulations. That shit is illegal as hell in ca.

I put the hot plate in the desiccator because I had better heat control.
