Garden Hose Water Vs Tap Water

Is there any difference between the two? I noticed my garden hose water is much smellier. I have filled 35 gallons of it up in a reservoir and over a week later in circulating water it still has a chlorine like smell to it.

I am not sure if it is chlorine or not -- going to test strip it to be sure. Is there anything else it might be? My tap water does not smell like this....

it must be picking up the smell of the hose. both spigots are supplied from the same source

same water from same source maybe some growth from sun on hose

is your garden hose coming from a well???? i know i have a well for my outdoor water and the indoor runs from regular city water.
